1st Atworth Brownies

Friday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, term time only.  Occasionally events are held at weekends or in the holidays but these will be notified to parents.  Brownies is for girls aged 7 to 9.  Brownies is followed immediately by Guides. This makes it easier when the Brownie is ready to go up to Guides at the age of 10 as she is likely to have met the Guides Leaders.

The easiest way to join is through our online membership system “GO”. Please go to:  https://go.girlguiding.org.uk/   Please remember to keep your contact details updated in case we need to contact you in an emergency.

Uniform and Footwear

Your daughter will not require uniform immediately she starts.  Uniform is not required until approximately 6 weeks after starting when she makes her promise.  Uniform can be bought online from the Girl guiding website online shop or over the phone on 0161 941 227 any time between Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm (9.30am on Wednesdays).  There is a Guide Shop in Trowbridge Park open on Thursdays during term times from 4.30pm to 6pm.  There is also a Guide Shop in Melksham contact Eileen Taylor 07754 055807 or email bigeyetaylor@hotmail.com  Please ensure that footwear worn to Brownies is appropriate and suitable for running around.  Ideally trainers or school shoes are best.  Boots, open toed sandals, crocs and footwear that slip off easily are not suitable and may mean a child has to sit out of an activity.

Subscriptions

The cost per term is currently £20.00 (3 terms a year). In the Spring Term you will also need to pay the Annual National subscription or Census (this was £45.50 in 2023).
